KiwiTech was founded by a team that has significant publishing and technology experience. KiwiTech's founder-managers bring a unique perspective to the revolutionary changes in content distribution and technology, taking place today. The founding team earlier co-founded Aptara, which has become the largest publishing services company in the world with more than 3,800 employees worldwide.
Rakesh Gupta
Rakesh is CEO of KiwiTech. He has more than 20 years of experience in the publishing sector is responsible for long-term strategic planning. The company is leveraging technology and a proven entrepreneurial team to provide cutting edge distribution alternatives for e-books.
A native of Marietta, Ohio, Rakesh has a master’s degree in business administration from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Ohio State University.
Rakesh has served as Governor Warner’s appointee on the board of the Center for Innovative Technology, an organization focused on creating a better environment for entrepreneurial companies in Virginia. Rakesh is also a former President of TiE-DC, the DC chapter of TiE, the largest non-profit organization of entrepreneurs with 50 chapters around the world.
Anita Gupta
Anita is President of KiwiTech. She brings more than 20 years of marketing and sales experience in the rapidly changing world of digital publishing services. She identifies new clients and then working closely with them once they become customers to ensure that KiwiTech’s services and products meet their needs.
A native of Marietta, Ohio, Anita earned a master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Marietta College.
Anita is a charter member of TiE-DC. Anita also works with JCBLS. This non-profit foundation runs a charitable school which provides food, clothing, and education to 100 children in Meerut, India.
Neal Gupta
Neal Gupta is currently CFO of KiwiTech. Neal is an entrepreneur with more than 20 years of international financial management experience. At KiwiTech, he oversees the company’s financial matters and leads the company’s efforts to build customer relationships with European firms.
A native of Marietta, Ohio, Neal holds a dual MBA (finance) from Columbia University and the University of London, and a Bachelor’s in Economics.
Neal is a member of IAN, the premier group of angel investors in India. Neal is a charter member of TiE-DC, and works closely with JCBLS, a non-profit family foundation focused on providing education and assistance to children of low-income families in India.
Gurvinder Batra
Gurvinder is a co-founder of KiwiTech, where he oversees the development of the company's wide array of smartphone applications. His has a solid background in developing software based on SGML/XML/HTML amd lately ePub.
At Aptara, Gurvinder helped create XMLpublishsm, the industry's first front-end XML (Extensible Markup Language) workflow process that ensures the simultaneous production of high-quality content for a full range of publishing formats, both print and electronic.
In 1987, Batra graduated from the prestigious engineering school, Jamia Millia Islamia University in New Delhi, where he earned an engineering degree in electronics and communications.
Gurvinder is a frequent speaker in technology related conferences and was selected among top 10 CTO's in the Washington DC area.
